Two key concepts related to sight words are decoding and fluency. Decoding refers to the process of breaking down words into their individual sounds and blending them to read. Sight words play a crucial role in decoding, as they are often the building blocks of more complex words. Fluency, on the other hand, is about reading words smoothly and with expression, and sight words contribute to this skill by allowing readers to recognize and process words quickly.
